   THE HOBBY OF THE ROCKHOUND has many different aspects. We are
collectors of minerals and fossils and craftsmen in many types of lapidary arts.
Knowledge, skill, and areas of interest are the rock hound’s choice. Some of us
   are purists, who insist on doing all of our collecting and work in specialized fields;
   others go for variety and buy or trade for much of our collections. Some of us
   also enjoy showing our collections; competing with others or just showing for the
   pleasure it gives others or ourselves. Perhaps we can help you determine or expand
   your interest in rocks and the earth sciences. AGMS was formed in the mid to
late 1950's just for this reason.

AGMS meets on the 4th Thursday of every month (except November and
   December) at 7:00 pm at our clubhouse located at 6719 Burnet Lane,
Austin Texas. For more meeting information please click on the activities
link  located at the top and bottom of this page. A map is located on
   the contacts page for your convenience. Program information for each meeting
   may  be found in our StoneChipper located under the newsletter tab at the top
and bottom of this page. Visitors are always welcome to any of our meetings.
